Now it's no secret that I am extremely sentimental so in February when I stumbled across, Stila Colour Balm Lipstick, Gemma, there was no doubt that it would be the next addition to my ever growing lipstick collection.  It was a very welcome addition and it has been a regular on my lips alone and with company.

The packaging for this lipstick couldn't be prettier without being too fussy, I love it.  Branded with Stila in a true to colour shade on the bullet cover, making it very easy to tell each one apart, if I chose to purchase more shades from the collection.  The wipe clean metal casing with a mirrored top, make this perfect for throwing in your handbag and applying on the go.

With the name 'colour balm lipstick' I was expecting the formula to be more moisturising than a regular lipstick, I was right.  Peppermint Oil is one of the main ingredients used to soothe and stimulate irritated lips so this is perfect if you suffer from dry or chapped lips.  With it also containing special ingredients to keep your lips hydrated and add definition this lipstick is so much more than just a lip colour. The prescense of the peppermint oil is very apparent in the scent which I love, its so refreshing and reminds me of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain that I own and adore.

Of course the colour is very important when looking for a new lipstick to buy and the colour of this Stila Colour Balm Lipstick is just another reason I love it so much.  This could most definitley be described as Pantone's Colour of The Year, Radient Orchid, a colour I have loved since way before the hype it has recieved this year.  Even with the balm like texture the pigmentation from this lipstick is phenominal, a truly captivating purple made up of pink undertones.

One thing I would alter about this lipstick is the shape of the bullet, its too big for direct application, even on my larger than average lips.  You do need to use a brush to guarantee precise application, if this was shaped better to fit the shape of your lips it would be a faultless product.

I have been pairing this a lot with, Exotic Island lipgloss from Tanya Burr's debut collection, I love the way it looks, complimenting my hair whilst making my eyes pop.  This will definitley be a well used lipstick and I cannot wait to wear it more.
