Beauty - Miss Patisserie Bath Bakes Lemon Twist Review

1:59:00 pm

Here I am again with another product from my new obsession Miss Patisserie,  this time one of their bath bakes, which was the first product that attracted me to the brand.  Cupcakes that are bath fizzies with exfoliating icing, I really couldn't think of anything more indulgent for a bath time treat.

Lemon Twist - Mini Bath Bake

Before I even opened the little box where my bath bake was being kept safe I was slowly falling in love with the packaging. Each side of the box displays a little scene and is in tune with the branding on the website. I love pugs, and with pugs being a major feature of the Miss Patisserie packing they must have seen me coming, if something has a pug on it I am 100 times more likely to buy it.  The glam lady in the bath adds a slice of class and glamour to the product and even though I don't and never will look like this in the bath it allows me to dream.  I intend to collect these little boxes and maybe use them for jewellery storage.

'The fragrance of icy lemonade and mango with have you dreaming of summer'  -Miss Patisserie

I have never seen bath products this beautiful, before, The level of classiness that Miss Patisserie creates with these little cupcakes.  So much detail has been added to this beauty, with the swirling of yellow in the 'icing', the little lemon slice topper and the threads of glitter just to finish it off.

'Fizz softens the water while releasing a beautiful fragrance, this bath delicacy also has an exfoliating top that will leave your skin as soft as silk' - Miss Patisserie

As soon as the scent is released from the box you are greeted with a cool and sweet scent with a sharp zesty undertone.  This smell is only intensified when added to your steaming bath water.  Even though these are nearly to pretty to use in your bath, that is the intended use so I saved this for a full on pamper day.
I peeled of the cupcake wrapper and popped it in my bath.  The bottom part started to fizz away sending it on an adventure around my bathtub, and the colour started to fade but you are then left with the top.  The top of the cake is used as a light exfoliator rubbing in circular motions on any dry areas.  The exfoliation topper was amazing, it turned slightly creamy and really added a luxury feeling to the experience.

I was left with super soft skin with a room filled with delicious scents after using this, and I really enjoyed the exfoliating icing, it makes this bath fizzie a multipurpose bath product and very worth the £4.50. It will not be my last bath bake, this I know for sure as I have three more sitting pretty waiting to be enjoyed.

Have I made you all want a bath, because I have done that to myself

Lots of Love

Beauty - Miss Patisserie Miss Mango Bath Fizzie Ice Lolly Review

8:33:00 pm

Miss Patisserie was a brand I had never came across before, until I attended the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham. Read my post about the Clothes Show here.  Their Stand just completely stood out from all the surroundng stands and before I knew it I was in cupcake heaven - bathtime cupcake heaven.  These lovely little bakes just looked good enough to eat and smelled devine.

"The fragrances will let your mind take you to places you've remembered, whether it be walking through a lemon grove, biting into a big ball of candy floss or taking out a freshly baked plum pie from the oven."
Miss Patisserie was created by the lovely Charlotte Ridgwell, with her love of beauty and bath products, beautiful illustration, patisseries and pugs and some experimenting in her kitchen at home in Cardiff,  the bath bakes Miss Patisserie are famous for were born. Charlotte started selling her creations at local craft fayres and in a few local shops.  They are now stocked in over 150 stores in the UK including Harrods and also Europe and Australia.  All this has happened in only three years and have introduced a number of new products including cake slices, macaroons, mini bath bakes and lollies.  It is one of the lollies I will be reviewing in this post.

Miss Mango Ice Lolly Bath Fizzie
As you will see in the picture above the lolly is presented in a clear plastic wrapping with a branded bow to seal the product and keep all the delicious scents under wraps until you are ready to use it. I love that this looks just like a lolly you would eat and appropriatly mounted on a lolly stick.

Miss Mango with its white and pink 'lolly' covered in glitter topped with the delicate blue flower is every girls perfect bath accessory.  The glitter really sparkles and this made me fall in love before I had even used it.

At the Miss Patisserie kitchens everything is handmade, the mixing, icing, pressing and packaging are all done by the Miss Patisserie chefs to ensure we recieve the highest quality finished product.  All of the fragrances and natural ingredients such nourishing cocoa butter and epsom salts are added due to the amazing benefits on the skin and body.
As you will see on the website and some of the packaging of the products pug dogs are everywhere (which I adore because they are my favourite dog), this to me shows Miss Patisserie's love of animals.  Her love of animals is proved through the products as none of the ingredients or the products themselves are ever tested on animals.

After running my bath I swirled my lolly around my bath, this was made very easy as the lolly stick is long enough to hold at the bottom,  releasing the beautiful fruity fragrance and nourishing oils.  As soon as the lolly was in the water the scent of mangos, ripe peaches filled the air leaving a  lingering base of clean musk to aid to the relaxation of my bath.  As the lolly disolved into my bath water the glitter sparkled in the light making my bath fit for a princess, in my mind every girl is a princess!
During my bath I could feel the difference in my skin and it was softer than ever before and felt moisturised.
I was enjoying my indulgent bath so much I really didn't want to get out but I had to before I turned wrinkly.  I was concerned that all the lovely glitter would stick to my skin and my whole body would be sparkling, it was visable on my skin but only very slightly, I luckily didn't look like an extra in twilight.  The most astonishing thing was the softness of my skin, it felt so nourished and smelt fabulous.

I  enjoyed my Miss Patisserie Miss Mango Ice Lolly so much and would love to try the other flavours including Pom Pom and La La Lime, you can view them here.  Be sure to expect lots more reviews of Miss Patisserie treats on Button's Blog.

Event - Clothes Show Live 2012

6:17:00 pm

I just had to write a post today just so the date 12.12.12 is on my blog little things like this amuse me.  If you follow me on twitter you will know that attended the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham last Friday and had an amazing day. I bought a couple of things and generally had a lovely day with Adam my boyfriend and fellow blogger Amy from PYT.

I wanted to look glam but comfortable too so I kept my outfit simple with black jeans, pepulum top and wedge boots and made more of an effort with my hair and make up.  I curled my Clip in Limited extensions and left them down and went for a brown smokey eye look and glossy nude lip with my make up.

One of the first stalls we visited was Miss Patisserie, these cute bathtime wonders are right up my street.  These little cupcake 'bath bakes' are beautifully handcrafted here in the UK. These are also animal friendly. This stand really stood out to me with all the cupcake bath fizzies all on show and the dreamy scent crept up my nose as I walked by. As the one I bought will be a Christmas present I wont be trying it out but Amy has reviewed the one she bought on her blog and you can read her review here.  Miss Patisserie will bebring out some new products soon and I will definately be trying them so look out for that review in the new year, all I will say is Bubble Biscuits.

In the winter I get always get a major urge to use false tan, more so than in the summer. I just want to be brown and bronzed all the time!  I have wanted to try Maria Fowler's (ex The Only Way is Essex) since I first got wind it was on the market, so knowing her range Celebrity Bronze would be available to purchase at the Clothes Show was one of the main reasons I wanted to attend. Approaching the stand it was obvious how popular it was and then I seen Maria, I had to meet her!  With help and reccomendations from Maria herself I purchased the Tanning Mouse and Tan Extender.  I cant wait to try these products out and ill be doing a full review when I have done so. The products were cheaper than usual at the show and I am loving the new logo. It was an extra special touch to meet Maria and she is just a normal person like you and I, she spent a good fifteen minutes chatting to Adam and myself  at the end of the day. Nice to meet a someone who is constantly in the media who is so down to earth and lovely, not to mention being absolutely flawlessly gorgeous.  This girl does not deserve any of the stick she recieves in the media and on twitter.

Barry M are a brand that I have loved for a long time and have recently started experimenting with their Dazzle Dusts and falling more in love with the amazing value of these products!  I have heard that they are well known at the Clothes Show for having amazing goodie bags and this year was no different.  I bought my goodie bag for £10 and have over £50 worth of products inside, this was my bargain of the day.

Now this one is a no brainer if you know me. Amy Childs was at the Clothes Show and there was no way I was going home without meeting her or checking out her clothing range and beauty products. I made my way to Amy's stand and while looking around her beautiful dresses her mum came up to me and asked if I needed any help and indeed I wanted to know how curve friendly the size 16 dresses were and she explained in full that they are a generous size 16 and continued to say which one would suit me best, unfortunately I didnt have the funds to purchase one of these dresses but now I know what the sizing is I can order online.  I have wanted one of the XL Sleep in Rollers Bun Ring for a long time now, and the delight when I seen that Amy had teamed up with them to release her own range was unexplainable, so when I seen these on her stand I picked one up and headed to the till.  I will be doing a tutorial type post once I have used my bun ring a few times. As I turned round to make my way to the till Amy herself came up to me and said 'alright hunni' OMG OMG I think I just died, Amy Childs talking to me as if, I composed myself and said yes thank you.  I think this was all I could manage in the shock.  I was served at the till by Claire Powell, Amy's amazing manager and face of Can Assosiates, she also manages Peter Andre and Gemma Collins.  Later in the day Amy was doing a signing so I stood and waited for thirty minutes and met her had my picture taken while she signed my gift bag. Best part of the day for me was Amy telling me my hair will look gorgeous in my XL Bun Ring! Okay I can assure you my fangirling moment is over.

Just as I was getting ready to leave a lady from OMG Nails asked me to come and have my nail stamped.  I walked over and she looked at my nails and decided to 'stamp' my glittery accent nail.  The way OMG nails work is, they have a giant stainless steel plate engraved with lots of different designs.  You paint over one of the designs, scrape with a special scraping tool to even out the nail varnish and use the stamper took to pick up the design and stamp on your nail and seal with a clear top coat.  I decided on a lace all over nail stamp.  I really liked this and would love if I went to a salon and they had this available but  I dont do my nails often enough to make this worth my money.

You can check out all the designs on their website here

As you can see I had an amazing first time at he Clothes Show Live, it was really just heaven with over 500 stalls and stands.  I will definately be returning next year and cant wait to see which brands and company's are attending.

Hope you enjoyed this long post and if you have made it to here, thank you.

Lots of Love

Gemma
