MUA Undressed Palette - Make Up Look

1:39:00 pm

Hey Hunni's,
Have you missed me?
Make Up Academy is fast becoming my go to brand for eyeshadow, due to their fantastic pigmentation, staying power, range of colours and affordable prices.  So like nearly every other girl in the country earlier this year I purchased the Undressed Palette.  With its likeness to Urban Decay's Naked Palette and £4 price tag it has been my most used palette this year.  I buy most of my MUA make up from their official site click here to visit their site.  There is also a 3 for 2 offer on everything on the site at the moment.

In stead of doing a full review of this product today I wanted to show you one of my favourite eye shadow creations using this palette.
When I go out I like to make a statement with either with eyes or lips because im not brave enough to do both. So with this heavy smokey eye look I have teamed it with a subtle pinky nude lip, using MAC Angel and Mac Plushglass in Ample Pink. That way all the focus is on the eyes.

To create this look I only used MUA's Eye Primer, shade 11 and 12 from the Undressed Palette, My HD Brows palette for the black eyeliner and Loreal Volume Collegen Mascara.

What looks ave you created with MUA's Undressed Palette?  Fell free to send your links of Blog posts featuring the Undressed Palette.

Dont forget to 'like' Make Up Academy on Facebook and when they hit 35,000 there is a 35% off and free P+P offer across the whole range online.

MUA Poptastic Palette - Purple Look

12:45:00 pm

Recently I have becoming so much more experimental with eye make up so I have decided to start a weekly post showing you which look has been my favourite of that week.  I will try to do a tutorial on how I achieved the look and which products I used, I am by no means professional but just thought Id show you how I do it.

Purple Passion

This week the reason I decided to use purples is because I have green eyes and I have always found purple really brings out the green in my eyes and makes them pop.

The little collection of products used to create this look.
Step 1. Cover your eyelid in your favourite eyeshadow primer, I chose MUA's professional eye primer.
Step 2. Using an all over shadow brush, apply the forth shade on the bottom on the MUA Pretty Pastels Palette, all over your lid
Step 3. Using a thiner shadow brush, apply the first shade in the MUA Poptastic Palette, in the crease of your eye and blend well
Step 4. Highlight your browbone, I used Benefit's High Brow Glow under my eyebrow with a sweep of the first shade in the MUA Pretty Pastels Palette.
Step 5. Apply a thin line along your bottom lashes of Barry M Supersoft Crayon in No.5 and blend with a smudge brush.
Step 5. Create a medium thickness black line along your top lash line using your favourite liquid liner I used Rimmel's Exaggerate Liquid Eye Liner
Step 6. Use a white liner pencil along your waterline to give the illusion of wider eyes, I used Bourjous Noir & Blanc Eyeliner Pencil(just the blanc side)
Step 7. Coat your lashes in mascara, I used Loreal Volume Million Lashes and Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp.
Step 8. You should end up with a finished result as below

 Hope you enjoyed this post

OOTD & FOTD - Christening

11:00:00 am

On Sunday it was my boyfriend's cousin's little boy's Christening, wow what a mouthful. The perfect excuse to dress up.  Adam(the boyfriend) and myself were honoured to be asked to be Godparents, so knowing that I was going to be standing in front of the whole family I made an extra special effort to look nice and wear something different.

I love this dress so much, it was such a bargain at only £10 in a sale in my Outfit(the one with Topshop, Miss Selfridge, etc.) store but I cant remember which shop, I have worn it once before so wearing it for the Christening was a must.  My shoes were £6 from Matalan, they have some great cheap and cheerful pumps and boots in at the moment.  My bag was also from Matalan (I work right next door to matalan now..can you tell) it was only £3 and I do not have a satchel type bag so this filled the gap in my wardrobe for now.

MUA Going for Gold Palette - Review

12:08:00 pm

It is no secret that MUA (Make Up Academy) are really at the top of their game when it comes to eyeshadow.  With the vast range of shades there is something to create a look day or night, summer or winter.  When the Going for Gold palette was launched I was not crazy about the colours as they seem very loud but as it was free gift when I spent £8 on the MUA website it was worth a try.

Swatched with flash, sorry about the second picture quality I dont know what happened.  Shade 2 & 6 are the only matte shadows all of the others have shimmer to them, they are all very highly pigmented and the colours are not as bold as they look on first impressions.  My favourite shades are 1,3 & 7.

I have created a couple of looks using this palette, what do you think?

Have you reviewed Going for Gold, leave your links as a comment for me to have a peak

Alexandra Burke

Beauty - MUA Lip Boom 'Cheeky' Review

6:37:00 pm

Ohhh girls I am so excited to be writting this post.  Ever since it was announced Alexandra Burke was designing a lip collection for Make Up Academy Cosmetics I couldnt wait to try it, as she has lovely lushious lips I knew it would be all about volume and colour.

I bought the Lip Boom in shade 'cheeky' because its a lovely pastel pink, my favourite colour and really trendy at the moment.

The idea with Lip Boom is that you get 4 looks all from one product.

You an use the lip stick on
its own for a matte look.

Lip stick with the gloss applied
only to the centre of the lips to
give massive volume illlusion.

Lip stick with the gloss all over
for a really high shine look
(my personal favourite )

 Last but not least a
 look with just the gloss
for a  natural look x

Buy yours now for only £3.00!!

When wearing the lipstick alone it feels super smooth  and lasted on my lips for nearly 6 hours which is fantastic for the price.  When I applied the gloss over the lipstick I could feel the sparkles which felt like very small beads, these do vanish after about 15 minutes,  it lasted under 3 hours, so you would have to reapply the gloss. Also it is more sparkly than glossy I normally just use a clear gloss so a change for me.

Overall quite impressed with this product from MUA, I will be purchasing the different colours so look out for future posts.

Let me know what you think of Lip Boom girls and which shade is your favourite?

Beauty - MUA (Make Up Academy) Face Powder Review

7:43:00 am

As of this week I will be doing a 'product of the week' post every Tuesday, this may be something new I have purchased or something I already have but cannot live without.

This week we have:

MUA FACE POWDER

Beauty, MUA, MUA cosmetics, MUA FACE POWDER REVIEW, Face Powder for £1, Budget Face Powders that work
Shade 3
I was only made aware of this brand about a month ago, since then I have tried a few of their products, this is definitely a favourite of mine.

I use this pressed powder most days, sometimes just over a primer if I'm just popping to the shop or work, sometimes over a liquid foundation to give me a matt finish for when I'm going somewhere nice.

I apply with a powder brush as this gives me the most even finish, its very crumbly  which I like in a powder as I find it blends better.  It gives me the full coverage I like so is perfect for me.

It comes in 3 shades numbered from 1-3 with 1 being the fairest, as I sport a Golden Glow all year round I use shade 2 and 3 mixed to match my skin tone.

I have struggled to find a powder that I feel comfortable with for years and finding this has been fabulous.  The most delightful thing is you can purchase this for just £1!!

Shade 2
There whole range includes numerous must have products for  face, lips, eyes and nails all under £5, keep an eye out for future posts as I can see myself using this product and exploring this brand for a very long time as the quality is outstanding for the price.

Have you used this brand or product?  Let me know what you think and if you have any recommendations for future purchases I would be delighted because i cant make my mind up.
