Hi lovlies!

I was very happy on Christmas morning when I unwrapped my very own Urban Decay Naked Palette, even more impressed that my boyfriend Adam had remembered my lustful looks everytime I seen it!

I have not had much chance to have a proper play around with all the shades yet but im sure I will do very soon. I have been using the two darker shades, creep and gunmetal, a lot more than I thought I ever would.  I thought Id show you one of the looks I have creating again and again using these shades.

I have been using the Urban Decay Primer Potion to prime my eyelid before applying the lightest shade in the palette, Virgin, all over the eye lid and socket.  I just go a bit mad with Gunmetal to be honest appliying to the lid only and blending until I get a softer finish.  Then I add Creep to the crease and blend like crazy until no line between the shades is visable.  In true Gemma Button style I added lots and lots of mascara to give my lashes some ooomff and some black pencil eyeliner to my waterline.

This eyeshadow palette was included in my goodie bag when I attended the #bbloggersxmas event and boy oh boy was I delighted to see it in there! Ever since I have challenged myself to be more colourful with my eye make up. 

The first thing I loved about this palette was the packaging.  I am quite easy to please when it comes to packaging I like very simple designs like Mac and Nars, so this is right up my street.  Im not a fan of over complicated packaging and really dont like white plastic packaging.  It is really sturdy too definately doesnt feel flimsy which I have found with other drugstore brands eyeshadow palettes.

I love the mix of shimmer and glitter finishes because you can create quite a dramatic look with very little product.  Every single shade is soo pigmented its unreal, some are so pigmented it took a lot of blending to get a look I felt confident wearing.  If I could change one thing about this palette it would be to have bigger pans, or even if they were square so you had more room to swirl your brush about.

 I love the names of the shades as I think it explains them really well.  The three shades that caught my eye first were Festive, Mulled Wine and Mistletoe.   I have created some looks using my favourite shades from this palette and I was so impressed with the results as they were all created with very minimal effort due to the texture and pigmentation of these gorgeous shadows.

This week and last has seen two very exciting posts from Aqeela's Blog, this lovely lady has decided to start a weekly make up post giving all of us the chance to experiement with our make up and create looks depending on which theme she has chosen.

 

This week the theme was Arabian Nights and as soon as I heard this, purples and golds came to mind so with the creative juices flowing I created my look and was very proud of it indeed.

 Seeing all the ladies different looks is fantastic as it gives me more inspiration for future looks.
